Privacy policy

Reynolds Roost Bakery ("RRB," "we," "our") is a pickup-only home bakery in Anderson, Indiana, operated by Blake Reynolds with Tiffany Reynolds as lead baker. This policy describes what personal information we collect when you order from ReynoldsRoostBakery.com, how we use it, who we share it with, and what choices you have. We wrote this in plain language because the data we handle is limited and the relationship is direct: you order, we bake, you pick up.
What We Collect
When you place an order, we collect the information needed to bake your order and hand it to you at the door:
- Your name (entered at checkout).
- Your email address (entered at checkout, used for order confirmation and receipts).
- Your phone number (entered at checkout, used for pickup coordination and for custom-cake conversations).
- Your selected pickup time, captured through the Bird Pickup app installed in our Shopify checkout.
- The items in your order, quantities, and prices, stored in your Shopify order record.
- Site-usage data collected by Shopify, including page views, traffic sources, IP address, and device information. Shopify uses this for site functionality, fraud prevention, and aggregate analytics.
- Review content you choose to submit through our Judge.me reviews app, which records the name you supply, your review text, and the product reviewed.
We do not collect or store your payment card information. Card data is entered directly into Shopify Payments (which uses Stripe as the underlying processor). We see only the last four digits of the card and the transaction status. The full card number never touches RRB systems.
If you place an order by texting 317-864-1872 directly, that message and your phone number are received and retained by Tiffany on a personal device for the purpose of coordinating your order.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information above to:
- Confirm and fulfill your order.
- Coordinate your pickup window and answer pickup-day questions.
- Send order-related messages (confirmation, receipt, pickup reminder, occasional service messages such as a kitchen closure notice).
- Respond to your custom-cake inquiries.
- Maintain order records for accounting and tax purposes.
We use your email address and phone number for two categories of communication:
- Transactional and operational messages (always sent as part of fulfilling your order): order confirmation, receipt, pickup reminder, and occasional service messages such as a kitchen-closure notice. These are not optional because we need them to actually deliver your order.
- Marketing and engagement messages (sent only with your explicit opt-in at checkout or via a separate signup form): periodic newsletters about new products or seasonal flavors, abandoned-cart reminders if you leave items in your cart without checking out, and post-purchase follow-up emails such as review requests. You may opt out of any marketing category at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in the email or by contacting Tiffany.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your information with data brokers, and we do not build profiles about you for sale to third parties.
Third-Party Services
To run an online ordering site, we rely on a small number of vendors. Each one has its own privacy policy that governs how it handles your data on its side of the transaction:
- Shopify hosts the storefront, stores order records, and processes checkout. See https://www.shopify.com/legal/privacy.
- Shopify Payments and Stripe process the payment.
- Bird Pickup records your selected pickup window inside the Shopify checkout flow.
- Judge.me stores reviews you choose to submit.
We share with these vendors only the information needed for them to do their job for your order.
Cookies and Tracking
Our storefront uses two layers of cookies and tracking technology.
First-party cookies set by Shopify keep your cart and session working as you move through the site, support checkout, and provide aggregate analytics about site traffic. Some checkout features may not work correctly if cookies are fully disabled in your browser.
Third-party analytics and advertising pixels. We have installed the following tracking technologies to measure marketing performance and reach audiences who may be interested in our products. Each operates under its own privacy policy, which governs how the vendor handles data it receives:
- Google Analytics — measures how visitors find and use the site (page views, traffic sources, session behavior). Privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.
- Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram) — tracks site events for Facebook and Instagram ad attribution and audience building. Privacy policy: https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy.
- TikTok Pixel — tracks site events for TikTok ad attribution and audience building. Privacy policy: https://www.tiktok.com/legal/page/us/privacy-policy/en.
- Pinterest Tag — tracks site events for Pinterest ad attribution. Privacy policy: https://policy.pinterest.com/en/privacy-policy.
These vendors receive data about how you interact with ReynoldsRoostBakery.com (pages visited, items viewed, checkout events). They do not receive your name, email address, or payment details from us — that data stays inside Shopify's systems.
Your choices regarding tracking. You can block or clear cookies through your browser settings; use vendor-specific opt-out tools (the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, Facebook Off-Facebook Activity controls, TikTok ad personalization settings, Pinterest ad personalization settings); install a privacy-protecting browser extension; or enable the Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal in your browser, which we honor where technically supported.
Your Rights
You may ask us to show you the personal information we have on file for you, correct it if it is wrong, or delete it. To make a request, contact Tiffany at 317-864-1872 or Tiffany@ReynoldsRoostBakery.com. We will respond within a reasonable time frame. Note that some records — completed orders, payment receipts, tax records — may need to be kept to meet Indiana and federal recordkeeping obligations even after you ask for deletion of your contact information; we will explain what we are keeping and why.
Data Retention
Order records (including the customer name and contact information attached to each order) are retained for the length of time required by Shopify's default data settings and applicable tax and recordkeeping rules, typically five to seven years. Pickup-coordination text messages are retained for roughly twelve months and then cleared. You may request deletion of personal contact information that is outside the records-retention window at any time, using the contact details below.
Children's Data
RRB is intended for adult purchasers buying for themselves or their households. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact Tiffany and we will delete it.
Indiana Residents
RRB operates under Indiana's home-based food vendor framework and does not meet the size thresholds that would bring it under the Indiana Consumer Data Protection Act (IC 24-15). The enforcement floor that does apply is the Indiana Deceptive Consumer Sales Act (IC 24-5-0.5), which requires us to honor the privacy commitments stated on this page. If you believe we have failed to do so, you may contact the Indiana Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division at https://www.in.gov/attorneygeneral/consumer-protection-division/.
Policy Updates
We may update this policy as the business changes or as the law changes. If we make a material change, we will post a notice on the site and, where appropriate, send an email to customers who have placed an order. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the version currently in force.
